    What PothOS is

    Your own
    AI computing environment.

PothOS brings a continuing ArcheAgent, memory, files, local computing, tools and workflows into one personal environment. Connect the AI engines and devices you use, and keep your identity, preferences and work together.

It’s a full software stack, not a chat window or a memory add-on: the interfaces you use, a layer for work, memory and orchestration, and a local runtime on supported hardware you choose. The same environment is designed to grow with custom skins, avatars, voices and new ways to interact.

    ArcheAgents

    A role that remembers.

An ArcheAgent is a continuing digital representative with its own identity, memory and responsibilities, and it develops with you. Change the engine underneath and it’s still the same ArcheAgent, with the same history. It isn’t a model, and it isn’t a person. It can call on other agents, or work with another PothOS, only where you allow it — for the Worlds and projects you choose. Working together doesn’t open up your personal memory.

    Talk and Work

Keep talking while the work runs.

Talk and Work run side by side in the same World. Ask about a run, rethink it, plan the next one — talking about it never changes or cancels it. Changes happen when you say so.

    Provenance

    Every memory shows its roots.

PothOS keeps what was said apart from what was inferred and what’s only proposed. Correct a source and the record keeps both: the fix, and what it replaced.

    Grows with you

For a life, a practice, or a small business.

    1. 01

      A life

Projects that remember where they left off.

Renovations, health records, travel, study — each keeps its own sources and history, so you never re-explain your life to a new chat. None of it flows into a work World unless you share it.

Personal projects · Life continuity · Drafts that wait for you

    2. 02

      A practice

      Client context that doesn’t reset.

Keep every client in their own World. Reuse the workflows that work and deliver drafts backed by the calls, files and decisions behind them.

      A small business

      Operations with stewards who cooperate.

Give scheduling, ordering and bookkeeping their own ArcheAgents, working together in the World you share with your team. Adding ArcheAgents as you grow never adds a software charge.

    How it’s built

    Three layers. One World.

The full PothOS software stack: your interface, a layer for work, memory and orchestration, and a local runtime on supported hardware you choose. The software is free; hardware, hosting and AI provider subscriptions are separate. The SaaS / PaaS / IaaS labels are an architecture map, not three separate products.

    Why PothOS?

Joshua Gustafson-Juarez chose the name PothOS for pothos: the deep yearning toward what is still beyond reach. For him, it expresses the drive to connect the disconnected parts of life and turn intention into useful action.

    Your accounts stay yours.

Bring your own ChatGPT or Codex account, or other supported accounts. PothOS orchestrates them — it doesn’t resell or include them. Local-first work and supported subscription or CLI connections reduce how much you depend on metered APIs; your providers’ terms still apply. Names like Claude or Antigravity are examples of accounts you might connect, not services activated or billed by PothOS, and not partnerships.

    Built in Houston, Texas

Your context, ready for what comes next.

Your ArcheAgent has a continuing home for its memory, files and work across supported devices and connections. It keeps its identity, your preferences and the permissions you set, and works with the supported AI tools you already use. Richer interactive capabilities keep rolling out inside the same PothOS app.

    Pricing

    PothOS is free. Always.

PothOS software is free for personal, nonprofit and business use. The software price is $0, with no subscription, per-ArcheAgent, device, seat, business or enterprise software fee. Adding more ArcheAgents never creates a software charge. PothOS is a free community project, and a community source release is in preparation. Today, public mission and design documentation is available; no standalone runtime source or native runtime download has been released. Hardware, optional third-party hosting, external AI subscriptions or API usage, and model licenses are separate. There is no promise of unlimited compute or a permanently funded hosted service. The hosted invitation controls access; it is never a payment requirement. The hosted beta currently requires an invitation and your own account. Free-access migration is in progress. If your account still shows a payment prompt, contact support; do not start a new paid subscription.
