Your own AI computing environment.
PothOS brings a continuing ArcheAgent, memory, files, local computing, tools and workflows into one personal environment. Connect the AI engines and devices you use, and keep your identity, preferences and work together.
- One continuing ArcheAgent with a persistent home for its memory, files and work
- Reach it from your phone, tablet, computer, browser or plugins
- Worlds and projects, with Talk alongside independent Work
- Memory with sources, corrections and a timeline
- Local computing, tools and workflows on supported hardware
- Orchestration across the AI engines and accounts you bring
PothOS is a free community project, and a community source release is in preparation. Today, public mission and design documentation is available; no standalone runtime source or native runtime download has been released.
Hardware, optional third-party hosting, external AI subscriptions or API usage, and model licenses are separate. There is no promise of unlimited compute or a permanently funded hosted service. The hosted invitation controls access; it is never a payment requirement.
The hosted beta currently requires an invitation and your own account. Free-access migration is in progress. If your account still shows a payment prompt, contact support; do not start a new paid subscription. The first release provides memory continuity and supported connected AI tools, including compatible MCP connections. Richer interactive presence is coming.

Questions
Is PothOS really free?
PothOS software is free for personal, nonprofit and business use. The software price is $0, with no subscription, per-ArcheAgent, device, seat, business or enterprise software fee. Adding more ArcheAgents never creates a software charge.
Is it free for my business or nonprofit?
Yes. Personal, nonprofit and business use are all free. Professional practices and small businesses can keep their work in their own Worlds, separate from personal memory unless you choose to share it.
Can I download the PothOS source now?
No, not yet. PothOS is a free community project, and a community source release is in preparation. Today, public mission and design documentation is available; no standalone runtime source or native runtime download has been released. See the licensing notice: https://github.com/joshuagjuarez/joshuagjuarez/blob/main/docs/pothos/community-release-policy.md
Who is it for?
PothOS is for individuals, educators, nonprofits, developers and businesses. License terms for the runtime are being reviewed and will be published with the community source release. Existing Apache-2.0 grants cover specific public documentation only and do not license the private runtime. PothOS exists for human-governed memory continuity across infrastructure, platforms, software, devices and models. It is designed to preserve original meaning and corrections, reduce noise and recover useful signal, so a person can develop themselves and help others. Your thinking stays yours: PothOS is built for cognitive sovereignty and never to exploit your private signal.
How do I get access today?
The hosted beta currently requires an invitation and your own account. Free-access migration is in progress. If your account still shows a payment prompt, contact support; do not start a new paid subscription.
What costs are separate?
Hardware, optional third-party hosting, external AI subscriptions or API usage, and model licenses are separate. There is no promise of unlimited compute or a permanently funded hosted service. The hosted invitation controls access; it is never a payment requirement.
Do my phone and laptop count separately?
No. You can reach the same ArcheAgent from your phone, tablet, computer, browser or a plugin. Devices, interfaces and Worlds never add a charge.
Can ArcheAgents work together?
Yes. An ArcheAgent can call on your other ArcheAgents, other agents, or another PothOS, only with the permissions you grant and only for the Worlds and projects you choose. Working together doesn’t share your personal memory or give anyone unrestricted access.
What about larger organizations and developers?
Organization-wide administration and developer tooling are release work in progress, not a separate paid tier.
